Street Clinics

Preparation

Identify Sites

  • Secure written permission to hold events
  • Find out the procedures for access of site on event dates
  • Secure fee for use in writing to hold event at the site
  • Identify how the site is prepared and by whom
    • Lawn mowed
    • Garbage facilities
    • Bathroom facilities
    • Parking
    • Lining fields (If possible)
    • Etc.

Select Event Dates

  • Facility must be available
  • Check for other events held in/around event dates
  • Decide how many dates per site

Event Staffing

  • Predict total number of help needed on site the day of the event
    • Licensed staff
    • Certified staff
    • General staff
  • Determine help needed for preparation of events
    • Fliers
    • Mailings
    • Press releases
    • Staffing

Registration Tent Procedures

  • Two lines, one for returning players, one for new players
  • New players get a t-shirt
  • Name tags given with first and last names each day
  • Give color flag to report to
 

Launching Area Procedures(Marked by colored flags)

  • Volunteers congregate here
  • Discussion of daily curriculum/activities
  • Lesson plans, attendance sheet, equipment inventory, and time sheet given to volunteers
  • Eight (8) players assigned to a field along with two (2) volunteers
 

Fields Procedures

  • Two (2) volunteers per field
  • Ten (10) to twelve (12) players
  • Volunteers follow lesson plans
  • Games are scrimmages with arbitrary teams
  • Each volunteer manages a team
  • Let the kids play
  • Encourage purpose
  • One (1) Certified Staff Member per four fields
    • Monitors quality control on each field
  • One (1) Licensed Staff Member per site
    • Monitors quality control at entire site
 

Activities

All groups should have attendance recorded before beginning and at the end!
U6 & U8 Age Groups
  • Fifteen (15) minutes of “story book” activities
  • Fifteen (15) minutes of 4v4 game
  • Fifteen (15) minutes of “story book” activities
  • Fifteen (15) minutes of 4v4 game
 
U10 & U12 Age Groups
  • Twenty (20) minutes of warm-up activity
  • Thirty (30) minutes of small sided activity
  • Thirty (30) minutes of 4v4 game
 

Post Sessions

  • Volunteers
    • Clean up field areas (If there is not a second set of events)
    • Inventory equipment
    • Turn in attendance sheet
  • Licensed Staff
    • Responsible for collecting volunteer forms
    • Responsible for field clean up
    • Responsible for site clean up
  • Wrap Up Meeting
    • Licensed Staff, Certified Staff, and willing Volunteer Staff meet to discuss problems, issues, and/or improvement areas
