Welcome to the Buffalo Soccer Club - BSC is a branch of Algonquin Sports for Kids.

Buffalo Soccer Club was created to offer the children of the city of Buffalo an opportunity in soccer.  From the game it is our hope that these same children develop good physical health, positive levels of self esteem, confidence, and core ethical principles in a safe, fun environment.  BSC will offer programming for young boys and girls ranging from five (5) years of age to eighteen (18).  We are hoping to create a program that is both robust and sustainable.  If you can contribute to the development and growth of our new club please contact Tom Garigen.

Volunteers are needed!  Paid coaching and refereeing positions are also available.

BSC House League - Registration is now open.  League begins in mid July.  Registration will close this year at 300 kids so don't wait!

BSC Club Soccer Teams - The club team is now full.  Tryouts for next year's teams will be in early fall.  Check back for details!

As the weather breaks the soccer begins!  There is a lot of soccer being planned for this season.  For starters, the first annual Buffalo Soccer Club travel team is already practicing for the start of their season in May.  They are in a league with teams from Orchard Park, Alden, Akron, Wilson, Niagara Pioneer, and KenTon.
Starting the end of April we will be running our single day Street Clinics again at various locations throughout the city.  The Street Clinics are designed to spread the word about our program and to give children a taste of what soccer is all about.
Then, of course, we will also be running our second annual house league starting in mid July.  The house league last year had over 250 kids registered and we are expecting it to grow considerably this season.  We are working hard to secure more field space and adult volunteers to improve on the quality of last years program and to handle the anticipated increase in numbers.
Last year we touched over 375 children with our soccer programs.  This season we plan on doubling our reach.  It is important for us to show people we want to be a permanent fixture in the Buffalo community and we are optimistic about doing just that this upcoming season .
On the table we are also working with the CAO to try to help out with their summer programs.  BSC is also attempting to work with the local charter schools to bring a soccer and literacy program to Buffalo.
Call us (408-8738) today if you want to join or to contribute to our cause.

Spotlight!

Megan Kiernan

This spring Buffalo Soccer Club fielded its first team into the Buffalo Western New York Travel League.  Instrumental in pulling everything together and making this leap of faith possible was head coach Megan Kiernan.  Without Megan's persistence and positive attitude this project would have never gotten off the ground.  Its individuals like Megan that will allow BSC to continue on its path to being a permanent and important part of the Buffalo community.  The travel team comprising boys and girls from four different age levels won its first game recently and improves every time they take the field.

Next season we are planning up to four travel teams and hoping to move up the standings and divisions.  Thanks Coach Megan!!
