Welcome to the Buffalo Soccer Club - BSC is a branch of Algonquin Sports for Kids.

Buffalo Soccer Club was created to offer the children of the city of Buffalo an opportunity in soccer.  From the game it is our hope that these same children develop good physical health, positive levels of self esteem, confidence, and core ethical principles in a safe, fun environment.  BSC will offer programming for young boys and girls ranging from four (4) years of age to fourteen (14).  We are creating a program that is both robust and sustainable.  If you can contribute to the development and growth of our club please contact Anna-Lesa Calvert or Tom Garigen.

Have You Considered Becoming a Referee?

Courses are being offered this winter that would allow you to become a referee and earn some extra income. Ref-ing is a great way to get exercise, learn more about soccer, and stay involved in the sports. To check out available and upcoming courses click here.

Upcoming Programs

We are happy to announce we will be working with the Buffalo Christian Center again this winter for our House League Program. Sessions will begin February 13th and will occur every Monday until March 26. More information is available here

We are also working with Akron Soccer Club to join them on Saturday mornings at Epic Center for Travel Players.

Sponsor Highlights!

Special thanks to Tim Hortons for their support of Buffalo Soccer Club. Tim Hortons has chosen Buffalo Soccer Club to be a part of the TimBits Program. This will allow us to provide uniforms to our 4-8 year old players. The TimBit Program is designed to make learn-to-play programs fun and memorable, so these young soccer players contine to play for years to come. There hope is that by helping grow early programs, in time it will also grow competitive programs too! In addition anytime during the year, when a Timbit comes into a Tim Hortons store wearing their jersey, they can receive a complimentary small beverage of their choice: milk, chocolate milk, juice, hot chocolate or soda.  Thanks again on behalf of BSC and the children they service.

Meet Coach Donnie

Donnie Hathorn begins his first season as an assistant coach for the Niagara men's soccer program.

Hathorn spent the 2010 season as an assistant men’s soccer coach at Valparaiso University in Indiana. The 2010 Crusaders placed three members on All-Horizon League team and the team was a recipient of the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the eighth straight year.

Prior to Valparaiso, Hathorn was at NCAA Division II Regis University in Denver, Colo. from 2008-2010. Hathorn served as both assistant coach and interim head coach during his time with the men’s soccer program. In 2007, Hathorn was an assistant women’s soccer coach at Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, Ariz. where he was in charge of the goalkeepers. Hathorn was also the Director of Coaching for the Flagstaff United Soccer Club.

Hathorn was a four-year member on the men’s soccer team at Siena and was a three-time MAAC All-Academic honoree.

Hathorn graduated with bachelor’s degree in marketing and management from Siena in 2003 and earned a MBA from Northern Arizona in 2007. Hathorn is married to the former Linda Consolante, who is currently an assistant coach for the University of Maine women’s soccer team.
