Welcome to the Buffalo Soccer Club - BSC is a branch of Algonquin Sports for Kids.

Buffalo Soccer Club was created to offer the children of the city of Buffalo an opportunity in soccer.  From the game it is our hope that these same children develop good physical health, positive levels of self esteem, confidence, and core ethical principles in a safe, fun environment.  BSC will offer programming for young boys and girls ranging from four (4) years of age to fourteen (14).  We are creating a program that is both robust and sustainable.  If you can contribute to the development and growth of our club please contact Anna-Lesa Calvert or Tom Garigen.

Sponsor Highlights!

The U.S. Soccer Foundation has awarded a grant to Algonquin Sports for Kids, Inc. to support their Summer House League Program. Buffalo Soccer Club, the pilot program of Algonquin Sports for Kids, will use this grant to increase the number of opportunities that urban youth from the City of Buffalo have to play soccer in during the 2012 summer season.

Special thanks to Akron Soccer League for their support of Buffalo Soccer Club. Akron SL has consistently provided support to Buffalo Soccer Club for the past two years. They have provided our Travel Program with tournament opportunities and, most recently, with the opportunity to train with them at Epic Center during their skills clinics. This has provided our players with invaluable opportunities and we are greatful for Akron SL's continued support. Relationships between soccer groups can make a huge impact in the growth and development of all youth players!

Spotlight!

Algonquin Sports for Kids, working in collaboration with the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County and the Independent Health Foundation, has been named the recipient of a two year Social Innovation Fund sub-grant from the U.S. Soccer Foundation.

The grant awards $300,000.00 a year, with a possible extension for an additional three years. The money will be used to fund the implementation of a Soccer for Success program here in Buffalo. Soccer for Success is the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s after-school, sports-based youth development program that uses soccer as a tool to combat childhood obesity and provides nutrition education and mentorship to children in at-risk communities.
