Volunteer Here

The key to the success of Buffalo Soccer Club will reside in the ability of BSC to find willing and able volunteers.  If you are interested in volunteering as a coach, field marshal, or administrator please let us know.

Volunteer Training Night

  • Thursday July 16th at 6:00pm at the JFK Recreation Center

All volunteers for the 2009 house league should make every effort to attend this very important meeting.  We will do a walk through of the house league process for each set of volunteers.  If you can not attend this important meeting, but want to be a volunteer during the season please let us know.

Coaches

Volunteer Coach

You do not need to be a professional coach to get involved as a coach in our program.  Anyone willing to be called a coach and have some responsibility with guidance from our professional coaches is qualified.  Each night you attend a lesson plan and a licensed coach will be provided.

Certified Coach

These coaches will be asked to volunteer during the house league and will be given a little more responsibility than our volunteers.  There will be opportunities for our certified coaches to run clinics at schools, community centers, and other after school and summer programs and get paid to do so.  Training to become a certified coach is one four (4) hour coaching course and a little continuing education work throughout the year.

Licensed Coach

These coaches have gone through a minimum of one United States Soccer Federation coaching licensing courses.  The USSF "D" License is given to those coaches who attend a 36 hour course and then pass a written, oral, and practical exam.  Information on how to sign up for one of these courses can be found on the NYSWYSA website.  These coaches are extremely valuable to the future of the Buffalo Soccer Club and are paid well for the time they put into our kids.

Field Marshals

Taking kids to the bathroom, keep them in lines during activities, keep them from roaming off the bench during games, help with 'boo boos', etc.  Field marshals are very important for helping our programs run smoothly and efficiently and obviously no soccer knowledge or experience is required.

Administrative Volunteers

Players need to check in every night.  Organizing uniforms, registrations, etc. are critical for communication and tracking purposes.  We are always looking for some sharp people to help make this process and easy for our families as possible.

The kids are counting on us!
