9 to 10 Age Levels

Practices are held 1 or 2 days a week at the JFK soccer fields. Small sided 1v1 or 2v2 games are played at the end of each session. These "games" all the children to learn and have fun in a less competitive environment. Families are encouraged to take advantage of all these soccer opportunities, but it is understood that kids have other activities.

Because kids’ progress at different speeds and new kids are introduced all the time, the teams at these age groups provide additional challenges to kids that have developed advanced physical and soccer skills.  These additional challenges can include more intense and frequent soccer training, more challenging leagues, or invitations to participate with Empire Soccer Club, and are customized each year for the group.

Day of Session Rules
  • All players must wear socks covering their shin guards and must need to bring a water bottle to every session.
  • Players will be trained at the same time for a half hour by BSC Staff. They will then scrimmage for 15 minutes applying what they have just learned, followed by 10-15 minutes of free play.
  • Substitutions will be on the fly from the coach/facilitator.
  • No goalkeepers.
  • Small pop-up nets will be the goals.
Rules
  • There are no referees; only facilitators helping the players apply what they learned from the first half hour.
  • When ball goes out of bounds another one will be thrown in by the facilitator.
  • No Yellow or Red cards will be given.
