Field Trip Honors Dr King Day

In the spirit of the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Buffalo Soccer Club hosted its first Dr. King Day Field Trip.  On January 19th Buffalo Soccer Club members met at the JFK Recreation Center in downtown Buffalo.  From there a bus full of players, along with a caravan of vehicles, traveled twenty five minutes south of the city to Sahlens Sports Park, the largest indoor soccer complex in western New York.  The players spent the morning playing soccer indoors on one of their giant turf soccer fields all while snow continued to fall outside.  After a few hours of soccer fun the families and coaches were treated to a lunch curtouesy of Sahlens.  Only about twenty five kids out of the 250 registered players opted to particiapte, but those that did brave the cold had a wonderful time.  Buffalo Soccer Club sees this as an annual event commemorating Dr. King and all he has helped to accomplish.
